Kiratpur Park - To Dispense the Ashes

According to Sikh common faith (but not particulary prescribed in Sikh Rehat Maryada-The Sikh Code of Conduct) when a family member passes away, the ashes are supposed to disperse in the running water.

When a demise happens in Sikh Families residing here in Canada in Sikh Families, sometimes it became difficult to take dead body or Ashes to Punjab for last rites. To facilitate families from any religion, Ontario Khalsa Darbar built a Kiratpur Park on Etobicoke Creek, very adjacent to Gurdwara Sahib. To help concerned families, Ontario Khalsa Darbar arranges a Granthi Singh/priest (if required) to perform the last prayer for the deceased one and keeps the record with OKD Office.
